I want to mention that I have never been a big fan of superhero movies (I loved Spider-Man…), I disliked Burton’s Batman (and bugged almost every sequel) and the progonal X-Men wasn’t really my cup of tea. But sweet Jesus did I adore this sequel. I need to tell that this movie was my expectations times ten, no super hero movie has ever gone so deep into it’s atmosphere to the point of creating the most awesome characters, great storyline, the best subplots and I don’t even want to mention the brilliancy of the directing and it’s most amazing effects. The brilliancy of the movie laid mostly on the astounding directing job that took place during this crazy two hours, Bryan Singer took the movie to totally different levels and into an imaginative atmosphere part one never had. The flashiness of the camera movements and the crazy fluidness of every shot, (all about the opening sequence with the coolest character and that wall trespassing girl’s running scene) is just the tip of the claw, I adored the new coming characters (‘Nightcrawler’ is by far the best), the post development of the old characters and their ultimate fate. The director managed his characters with faith in the comic, (Nightcrawler’s german accent is the shite) and all around class. Add the most amazing and imaginative moments and you get one hell of an entertaining dish. The tense action sequences and the sudden slow motion and shifting movements reminded me of “Matrix” at times…cool shite. Characterization, double check, in part one, most characters were simple and not totally layered, in here…it’s another story. As in the comic book, all the characters have a very unique charm. As I had said before, all new coming characters (all but the evil wolverine chick…totally useless if you ask me. She was cute, dough) are the total shite, I fell in love with most of them and at the ending, I really needed more, I was left thirsty, and if part 3 doesn’t come any soon now…I will go on a killing spree. More praises here, almost every second I was watching the movie, I was in a deep gaze and even deeper in it’s very compelling story. It took the story into much higher levels any other super hero movie had ever been and making it very confusing and complex at one point (the scene involving a little girl). I also dug the fact that they digged more into Wolverine’s past. You guessed right, I have more goodies to add, the acting: I mean, does anyone have a problem with such a dream cast?? Let me know if you want that bootie kicked (now THAT was a joke all right?) We are talking about Ian McKellen, sweetie Famke Janssen, Halle Berry and much more! All the actors carried their character perfectly and everyone seemed to be made for their respective role (Halle Berry’s accent comes and goes again…hmmm). The very slight problem I had was that the dialogue at times felt weak and one character wasn’t needed or coild have been developed in a more layered way. Amazing how from the opening titles, to the rolling credits, the movie had me at hello, even though I was kinda depressed at the ending…I left the theater with an almost unbearable smile running across my face. This movie is an “9.5/10”, if it’s not the tense action, the amazing and brilliant directing, or the breathtaking effects, it’s the coolest characters, its the effective twists. Either way, this movie is a super hero masterpiece, as I said before, if part 3 is not realeased any soon now, I will go on a killing spree.
