It's a lot longer than the first film (similar to X2 and X1) 2. It has a more developed and deeper story 3. It has more of everything (action, comedy and swearing) For a long time, I haven’t seen a good sequel (Charlie's Angels, Ace Ventura, Fast and Furious, Dumb and Dumberer [even if prequel]), of course the last good sequel to a good movie was X2, and with X2 also is Shanghai Knights. This movie is a typical popcorn flick as well as a ride (maybe I consider it a ride because of all the half-hour chases). I also agree with JoBlo about the similarity with HEAT during the street shootout after the car chase. After I saw Pirates Of The Caribbean I read reviews about it saying: it was 2h30. Honestly, while watching the Pirates movie I didn't see the time fly by. For Bad Boys 2, even though the movie is good, it was very long and this fact is noticeable. I give most the movie credits to director Michael Bay (seriously man, your only good movies The Rock and the first Bad Boys) for his extraordinary filming during the first car chase (the one with the silver Ferrari) and the direction during the HEAT rip-off. Martin Lawrence was hysterical, I loved the scene with Reggie, the 15 year old guy who came to pick up Marcus' daughter on a date (this scene made my jaw hurt badly for not stopping of laughing), another hilarious scene was at Captain Howard's house. Bad Boys 2 has way too much action, it would be a damn good movie if there would be less action and more comedy because the on screen chemistry between Lawrence and Smith is fantastic, even though they're good friends they still yell and swear at each other. As a result Bad Boys 2 is a very violent and gory movie, much different from the first one in matter of action, however still keeping the comedy chemistry between the 2 main characters. My score for Bad Boys is 7/10 My score for Bad Boys 2 is 7/10 Even if I think Bad Boys 2 is better, I still have to give it the same score I did for Bad Boys 1. |
