| I saw LXG yesterday afternoon, and although I can understand why the naysayers are hating this movie so much, I loved the hell out of it. I loved the lapses in logic, the sometimes corny effects, the overly dramatic lines ("That's the smell of treachery!")...I had a ball with this flick. LXG consistently displayed its imagination concerning the effects, not just throwing some stuff out there but putting some thought into what the budget was spent on. That, and being a literature buff long before I turned to movies, it was cool seeing all of these literary greats gather together to just kick ass. LXG gave me a headache, and I'm thankful for it. Not a perfect summer picture (I would rather see the more intelligent and entertaining T3) again, but LXG is certainly above-average stuff for this season. ***/**** or 7/10 |
