Topic: CHARLIE'S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE Forum: JoBlo
I wrote a review for this movie the Sunday after it came out on video, which was the day I watched it. But just my luck, when I finished the review and was about to submit it, my computer froze up. So after putting all of that effort into writing a proper review, and then having it gone in a heartbeat and unable to get back, I just didn't feel like writing another review for it. That's why I've put it off for so long. But now, I suppose I will do one. Of course, it will be more like a mini-review, since I'm too lazy to write another full one after what happened. CHARLIE'S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE (2003) The first Charlie's Angels looked great from the trailer and TV spots. So I went to see it opening weekend with a friend. Both of us were pretty disappointed. It was decent, but not nearly as good as it looked. I did see it a few more times on video though, and own it on lame ol' VHS, and even though it was disappointing, I've come to appreciate it for what it is, and it gets a 7/10 (B-) from me. From the trailers and TV spots, this sequel looked MUCH better than the first one. But I didn't get my hopes up too high, because I figured it could be just like the original and look kickass, but end up really disappointing. To my surprise, it ended up being a blast from beginning to end. I had a lot of fun watching it. I even watched it again later that night with my brother. While watching it he said "this would have been fun to see on the big screen," and I couldn't agree with him more. I thought the same thing while watching it. I was kicking myself for seeing How To Deal this last summer while this was still playing at my theater. I thought How To Deal would be better though, but I ended up being wrong. I loved the stuff with Alex (Lucy Liu) and her father. I thought it was hilarious. I also really liked the "ass jokes" (Helen Zaas --- sounds like ASS). These two things were the highlight of the movie as far as jokes go. Overall, I had a blast with this movie. The dancing, extremely unrealistic action scenes, some poor CGI, a cool soundtrack (Thank you for including "Danger (High Voltage)" in the movie!), three sexy leads, and MUCH more, all lead up to one kickass ride. Highly entertaining! By far a superior sequel! I'd like a third, but want it made like this one, or even better. Bring it on! Grade: 8/10 (B+)
