Distributor: Miramax Starring: Gwyneth Paltrow, Christina Applegate, Candice Bergen, Marc Blucas, Rob Lowe Directed by: Bruno Barreto Produced by: Brad Grey, Matthew Baer, Bobby Cohen My Thoughts: VIEW FROM THE TOP (2003) I didn’t expect all that much from this movie, and while I didn’t get anything too special, I can honestly say that it was enjoyable and quite a bit better than I had heard. It was just a light and entertaining comedy. Gwyneth Paltrow was good, although her character, Donna, was a little annoying sometimes. I couldn’t stand when she would act like a goody, goody. Like when Christine (Christina Applegate) stole soap from the bathroom and Donna flipped out and acted like she had murdered someone. It was just soap bitch! Get a life! She didn’t rob a fucking bank. Grrrrrr .. I could have strangled her then. And this isn’t the only time she does it. I can’t stand goody, goody people and this made her character a tad less likable, especially when she was such an obvious goody, goody with her nose up in the air. Overall though, I enjoyed this movie. It kept me entertained and never once bored me. Nowhere near as bad as some said. Grade: 7/10 (B-) |
