| Posted by: screamfan at August 17, 2001, 7:44 pm | | Topic: Scream 10/10 Forum: JoBlo | | Scream 10/10 This is my all time favourite movie and will always be my all time favourite movie, I love every thing about it, I like all the characters, all the death scenes, the plot, the ending and everything else in this movie. This is the only movie ever that I have rated ten out of ten because I can’t thing of a single thing wrong with it, any other movie I would be able to find at least one problem with it but not this one. This is also the movie that got me interested in movies in the first place, after watching this I went out and rented a lot of the movies referenced in it and now I’m a huge horror fan, okay like I said to me this movie is perfect and every thing about it is perfect. First the girls…. Neve Campbell is great in this movie, she’s perfect for the main role, and she has the looks, the acting ability and every thing else to pull off then character of Sydney perfectly. Even though Drew Barrymore is only in the first twelve or so minutes she is also great and acts really, really scared and terrified which also makes us scared for her, I also heard that she was first set for the role of Sydney but I am kind of happy she decided to do Casey instead because I don’t think she would have been that good as Sydney. Courtney Cox is great in this movie I love her so much!! I think she’s so great in ‘friends’ and she’s also great as Gale Weather’s and I am happy that she decided to play a character that’s nothing like her friends character Monica, not that I don’t like Monica cause I love her too but I think it’s a good thing that she did this unlike Jennifer Anniston who plays the same type of character in every movie she’s in (actually all the friends cast do that, except for Courtney Cox). Last but not least Rose McGowan, Scream was the first movie I saw her in and I already love her, I like everything about her and she was also great in this movie, she’s nice to look at and she’s also quite funny. Now the boys…. Skeet Ulrich is great and like everyone says he looks a lot like Johnny Depp (who reminds me of Brandon Lee) Mathew Lillard is great and his very funny but this is probably the only movie I like him in. David Arquette’s Dewey is just a great character in my opinion (actually there all great) he is funny and he also looks like one of those people that never quite understand what the hells going on (kind of like Joey off ‘friends’) Lastly Jamie Kennedy who like every one else is great and you also kind of feel sorry for him (although I didn’t mind his death in scream 2 as much as most people) The deaths in this movie are just great and they’re also quite different and creative, and no matter what anyone says they are very intense and creepy as well as funny (not the actual death but the dialogue). The opening scene is the best thanks to the great directing, the score, the script and Drew Barrymore who is great in the scene. Tatum’s death is also great but I think she would have been a great character for the rest of the series but damn they always have to kill the hot girls! Courtney Cox is great in the Van scene and I am very glad they didn’t kill her. Sydney’s first encounter with the killer is just perfect and I love the way that in this movie all the characters claim to know all the rules and clichés of horror movies and even make fun of them but they are then forced into them themselves. Like I said there are no bad points that I can think about for this movie and I am usually very hard to please and I can watch this movie billions of times and never get bored of it and I actually have seen it billions of time and every time I notice something new. I wouldn’t call this movie just a comedy or a spoof or a horror so it’s just a thriller with lots of funny parts and creepy parts. So it’s a funny, scary, intense thriller and it’s also my favourite movie. |
