Well after waiting a year for its release, I must say I was not at all disappointed. It is a beautifully created film with great characters, a beautiful score, lots of passion and emotion, and a good time at the movies. The special effects were also quite good, but at times I thought there was too much, but for what its worth, I really liked them. Elijah Wood gave a super performance as young Frodo, and the relationship between Frodo and Sam was rather touching. But Ian McKellan really took the gold here. Not only did he LOOK the part, he played it with such a passion and intensity, and his blue eyes could preach a sermon without saying a word. I would have liked to see more of Liv Tyler, whose celestial presence did seem a little odd, but nonetheless, she was beautiful. When she spoke in Elvish, I was in love All in all, 8/10, and a really enjoyable time at the movies. One of the only films actually worth my $7.
