| I just rented this today expecting a good action movie. What I got was a horrible, disappointing and disgusting action movie where the only saving grace is a passable performance from Johnny Depp, who at least makes SOME parts of the movie entertaining. The violence is crude and even shocking at times, and the movie could be classified as a foriegn film even since more than 75% of the film is spoken in Spanish. Salma Hayek, Eva Mendes, and several other talented actors are wasted in this movie, but that isn't the worst of it. The worst part is that the action scenes are hilariously choreographed and make you laugh rather than glance in awe. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it sure didn't seem like it to me. 4/10 (D+) |
