I'd like to say although I enjoyed this film, I am not thorougly impressed. I do not think it should get a Best Pic Nom. I feel I like this one as about as much as "Gangs of New York" ....while this movie was well directed, acted, ....the score and cinemetography was nice as well, along with the art direction. The plot and the way it was written seemed very weak and rarely do I use the word "dull" It's not that the movie didn't keep my interest the entire 2 hours and 24 minutes. It's just....it didn't make me think, was quite predictable and I just ...wanted something more out of it. If it weren't for the wonderful direction and the acting this movie would have been terrible, in my opinion. What Gangs of New York lacked in style and cheesiness..this movie made up for. They both lacked in dialogue work (originality). But what this movie lacked in plot, Gangs made up for. So overall, this movie was pretty good, but not good enough for another watch or any big oscar nom's. 6/10
