| Wow, I did miss that plot-point about why it's the children to pilot the evas. Still though, that's an odd explanation. I know, I know, I don't want the series to sit down and explain EVERYTHING, but this just seems like an important thing. And I know about Misato. Actually, it wasn't a fake, but the opposite (right?). Misato was showing shinji a part of her she rarely showed others (though she showed that to kanji, so in a weird way both him and shinji knew a misato the others didn't). About the characters dropping out, here's my main beef: toji. Without spoiling what happens, I was REALLY wanting some closure on that whole issue. Maybe have just a split-second conversation with Shinji. But no, once 'that scene' happens he's just out of it for the rest of the series. On that note, this is a SPOILER, AVOID THIS ONE BECAUSE IT'LL RUIN ONE OF THE MOST DEVASTATING MOMENTS IN THE SERIES!! . . . so once kaji died I was dissapointed that none of the kids ever found out. I really wanted to see asuka's reaction (there was a hint that she knew at one point, but it was too brief) . . . END SPOILERS. And weapon, I 'worship' End of Evangelion. Can't help it. Asuka has one of the greatest moments in a film I've ever seen. Regarding the finales, this won't be a spoiler, but one is "mental" and one is "physical". In one we see what happens in the mind, the other the physical world, the reality of "it". Right? The problem was EoE, while showing the physical happenings of "it", also showed the mental ones. So in a way it encompassed both. |
