SCREAM 3 SYNOPSIS
While Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) lives in safely guarded seclusion, bodies begin dropping around the Hollywood set of "Stab 3", the latest movie sequel based on the gruesome Woodsboro killings. And when the escalating terror finally brings her out of hiding, Sidney and other Woodsboro survivors are once again drawn into an insidious game of horror movie mayhem. But just when they thought they knew how to play by the rules, they discover that all the rules have been broken. REVIEW
The characters in this film are terrible. Even ones from the previous two are messed up and out of character. Gale (Courteney Cox) and Dewey (David Arquette) are two fine examples. Sidney (Neve Campbell) is more of a psychopath than to real one is. She is living is on top of a deserted mountain spot and has bars on the windows, alarms all over the goddamn place and a cute looking doggy to protect her. Det. Mark Kincaid (Patrick Dempsey) and Jennifer (Parker Posey) are likeable characters. I can't of card for them that much though, seen as though when Parker's character got bumped off I just laughed. Ladies and gentlemen we have ran out of steam. The scares are minimum, not one scene had me feeling nervous or caught up in suspense. The killer seems like a cartoon character now. In fact, the film feels like a cartoon. The gore is too dry. We get a couple of drops, that's it. It's so ****ing tight. Many of the death scenes are just stabbings, nothing creative. I wonder if Ehren Kruger could be to blame for these major flaws. Maybe if Kevin Williamson returned to write the script, we would have amuch better film. Wes Craven seems to have lost his style that he had when he started the series aswell. Then again, this is a 'Scream' film and I didn enjoy watching some parts. Near the end when most of them are butchered in the house is quite funny. More like an episode of Scooby Doo. We still get the laughs, thanks to Parker Posey. It's such a shame Randy
couldn't return. He would have lifted things up a touch. Here, the killer and his motive is even more lame than in the previous one. It's Sidney's brother and he told Billy and Stu to kill Sid because he is also the mother of Sidney's because she was raped and he got pissed of and came up with a pla...Zzzzzzz... I gave it a higher rating because Jay and Silent Bob make a cameo in the film. That gave me a smile. Overall, this was a bad way to end the series and hopefully there will be no more sequels. This is a really fun trilogy to watch, however. I dig it. 6/10
