The first thing that puzzled me about the movie, until it got further along, is that it had absolutely nothing to do with a ring, and that you find out what that means later. The second thing that puzzled me is why on earth little Aiden kept calling his mother Rachel. I would bitch-slap my kid if he did that. It was very annoying. Aside from seeing several movies about Evil Little Girls, we have no idea where little Samara actually came from. Maybe she really was the Spawn of the Devil...one doesn't know. But since I work for an infertility clinic, I am only hoping that she wasn't the result of an in-vitro fertilization gone awry, perhaps substituting the devil's semen for her father's. Maybe this is why he states emphatically "I HAVE NO DAUGHTER!" If she was mine I wouldn't claim her either. I thought the part where Rachel coughed up a lead used on Samara was interesting, not sure what it was to be a symbol of however. Samara's mis-treatment by her doctors? I thought they were pretty patient considering the monster she was. I also think the killing of the horse on the ferry was completely unnecessary, and was not even needed for the plot line. Shame on you guys. We know the horses that were laying on the beach were trained for that, but we do not know about the horse on the fairy. I wouldn't put anything pastmovie makers. At best the horse was terrified. I unfortunately have a problem with any animal cruelty, real or simulated. All in all, it was a pretty scary movie, and one to watch on a dark, drizzling day when he you have no plans, as I didn't want to go out the night I saw it!
