This movie kicked some serious ass! I absolutely love being scared by movies, and I haven't been scared by a movie in a long time. until I saw this movie. There are so many scenes where I jumped (and I do not jump at movies) and after seeing this movie, I don't greatly like my TV any more (or cabins in the woods, or wells, or little girls, or barns, or water, or just about anything!) Definately some majorly disturbing imagery. I saw this movie just a few days after seeing the band Tool live. Definate overload of fucked-up images for one week. The scene with the horse on the ferry was definately unnecessary. I found that after seeing the movie twice and talking about it with my friends, many of the unanswered questions were answered by our discussion. The worst thing was when I left the movie theater and was driving home, I got stuck behind a trailer that had horses in it <<FREAKY!>> (If you've seen the movie, you know what I mean). The way that movie ended, definately original. There was one point where I was disappointed because I thought it was over, and it was quite a trite ending, but then the credits didn't roll and the movie kept on going...way cool. And the end with the guy in his apartment! HOLY SHIT that was freaky! This movie is a must for anyone who likes psychological thrillers, not slasher flicks, because this is definately not a slasher flick. It moves a little slow, but builds up some major suspense. There isn't much gore because it isn't needed. When they show the people's faces, that's some freaky shit. I just can't wait until it comes out on video so I can sit at home alone in the dark watching it on my TV. But be sure I won't be answering the phone any time soon. Definately 9.5/10 (not a 10/10 just because I really didn't like that whole thing with the horse, and the actual story about the little girl and her mother wasn't developed enough). Definately should check this one out!
