Aside from a summer popcorn movie where studios have permission to blow things up to excess, what was the point of making this movie? Terminator is a classic. A David & Goliath story with sci-fi flavor. So simple it was genius. What's the point: it sparked the"what if". What if machines could rise up against us? Terminator 2 is a quintessential action flick. Great acting, great story, fantastic groundbreaking Special Effects (didn't it win a special achievement Oscar?) If it weren't for the fact that we would lose the kick ass transformation of Sarah Conor's character, T2 is easily a stand alone movie, needing no predecessor. And the point was: without hope and a sense of humanity, you are just a machine. So here we are at T3. Like most I was worried, so I caught a matinee. This flick is a worthy sequel. Although the Crane chase started to feel like the Matrix Reloaded Freeway, all things and characters were in the spirit of the series. SEMI***SPOILER***SEMI***SPOILER*** And what's the point of T3: to answer the only good question left in the franchise: Is Judgment Day avoidable? Now we know. SEMI***SPOILER***SEMI***SPOILER**** T3 was worthy, but neither equal to nor better than Terminator or T2. Jerry Burkheimer will always keep summer filled with explosions and car chases. And we already know how the war with the machines ends (we saw it at the beginning of this film). Let's let it go here people. Let's put the Terminator to bed on an up note. 7.5/10 PS: If anyone has ever seen a fourth installment that was worthy of the first or even the second, please let me know. |
