He's BACK!...it's been 12 long years since we have seen Arnie do what he does best, kicking ass! Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines finally hit theaters on July 2, 2003. I have waited three years, ever since it was announced on Upcomingmovies.com that a third chapter of the Terminator franchise is getting made. And boy, was I PUMPED! Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines tells the story of in-his-twenties John Connor, the future savior of mankind who stands up against the machines. It's been 10 years since the events of T2, John living his paranoid life, is on the run living "off the grid", no home, no credit cards, no license...nothing, afraid of being discovered by 'SkyNet' the highly developed super-computer. Until he gets into an accident on the road, he goes in to a Vet Clinic where he gets locked up in the cage. All hell breaks loose when the T-X, the most advanced cybernetic organism SkyNet has got on the market...is sent back to 2004 to assassinate him and change the future. While at the same time a protector from the future sent in by the resistance, a T-850, slightly advanced model of its' predecessor. When I first heard that Jonathan Mostow was attached to be the film's director, I thought to myself "That's it he's going to ruin it" but then, as time passed, I believed he could do this - and yet when many 'whined' about how they wanted James Cameron back, I had faith in Jon...and I'm damn glad I did. What he has done with this chapter is gave it a new life. He had his own vision, and I respect that, while the previous two movies stayed 'dark' Mr. Mostow gave it a lighter feel. Most scenes happen in daytime, unlike the first 10 to 15 minutes. What fascinates me is how cool the new terminator is, the TX can do so many cool things it's just amazing, it makes you feel like the T-850 has no chance against it. The sensory trick was really interesting. I loved the new story, the whole continuation and the explanation of SkyNet, the smart, sharp and witty script written by John D. Brancato and Michael Ferris brought a lot to this chapter. Kickass action sequences, smart story, great characters, and drama! and that is what I loved this movie for! ACTING: Nick Stahl is easily the best choice for John Connor, Jon made a wise choice of picking him for the role. This man 'can' act, I had no probem whatsoever in accepting him as John Connor at all. I've never even thought about Eddie. Nick has that great charisma in him that proves he's the man for the job, he knows what he's doing. He played out great in the emotional scenes in the beginning, and the end. Claire Danes, another wise choice made by Mr. Mostow. I could accept her character and her role as a future leader/John's wife. Claire danes and Nick Stahl both had great chemistry between each other, and that really helped the story. Glad she wasn't the occasional 'screamer' in the film. Great job Claire! Kristanna Loken, babe, drop dead gorgeous, sexy, yet evil! Mr. Mostow yet another great choice in casting! I salute you. Mrs. Loken did a fine job as the evil cybernetic organism the 'TX' although not as menacing as Robert Patrick's T-1000 she still knew what she was doing, "not blinking!" yes that and just overall acting was very believable. the walk, the stiff kind of way running, keeping a straight face. Good job Kristanna, I hope you get a lot of offers after this! David Andrews, I loved his character! he was in for so little, yet he was a likeable character! I wished we had seen more of him, seeing as how he plays a huge part in the whole SkyNet program. I've never seen many of David's flicks, he sure did a fine job in this one. Hope to see you in other movies Mr. Andrews! Arnold Schwarzenegger, there's not much to say about this man because we practically all know he was born to be this character. Once again, HE KICKED ASS! as soon as I saw him get that leather gear on and put those shades on, I knew he was truly back! 12 years of waiting really paid off! Thanks Arnie, I love you for it! You're one baaaad mutha.... SFX: ILM has done it again, Pablo Helman is your man! impressive job guys, T3's SFX were groundbreaking. The Future War scenes were done very well, but I was a bit disappointed that all the scenes in the movie turned out to be everything we have seen in the Trailer. Stan Winston is truly the man here, I think what he has done with this movie is just Oscar worthy, the T-1's were real fucking robots!!! how cool is that? Just think of it, 12 years ago...they pretended to make them, today, they actually made them! Pretty cool huh? Jeff Dawn has done what he does best once again. Creating some badass make-up. It's amazing what these guys can do, combining make-up with CGI thus coming up with an unbelievable outcome, it's just fantastic! I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff Dawn nabs an Oscar for his work next year. ACTION SEQUENCES "The Crane Chase will be the most amazing chase in the history of filmmaking" --- Arnold Schwarzenegger Oh how right you were!!!! that just blew me away, forget Matrix: Rehashed this 10 minute chase sequence was the best thing I have ever seen! no wonder why none of the cities would let them film it! there is just so much destruction going on, it is un-fucking-believable...my face expression was this "" all throughout the scene, and I'm not shitting you, that was literally the look on my face. I was stunned, in complete amazement the whole 10 minutes. The old fashioned stunts cannot be beaten by SFX, and I am so glad Mostow stayed true to the series by just doing that! the stunts baby! jaw-dropping! CRS Lab shootout, WOW, a couple of T-1's destroying the whole friggin lab, the bathroom brawl!! mmmm just what the fans wanted and that's what we got! I thank you Mostow you have a true vision. In the end, this has got to be one of the best chapters that has better 'action sequences' than the previous. I have been waiting to see something like this for 12 years, and I got it! I think most of the fans were satisfied with what Mr. Mostow and the crew had brought us. Thank you Jonathan Mostow, I really hope you come back to do another Terminator movie. You have great vision, and I am just thankful that you did not fuck this up! 10/10 I still have not picked which one I like better, T2 or T3 because both of them are 10 on my list. Hard to decide which!!! love 'em both! why must I choose!? --Invincible-- a HUGE Terminator fan!
