| Undercover Brother (2002) Rated PG-13 for Language, Sexual Humor, Drug Content, & Campy Violence Director: Malcolm D. Lee Starring Eddie Griffin, Chris Kattan, Denise Richards, Dave Chappelle, Aunjanue Ellis, & Billy Dee Williams. When a mysterious figure know only as "The Man" threatens to stop the very first black presidential candidate, Undercover Brother (Eddie Griffin) and a group of secret agents try to stop him. The very first time I saw the trailer for this flick, I said to myself, "this looks like shit". But then, all of a sudden, I changed my mind. The movie actually started to look like fun to me. And that's exactly what this blaxsploitation spoof, "Undercover Brother" was... a lot of fun. Eddie Griffin really shines in this movie, just as his jewelry and wardrobe does. He steals the show as this tremendously funky character who feels his gigantic afro of his is of more importance than his job. The rest of the cast has got their own "thang" going on, and it's damn funny! Chris Kattan deserves a shout-out for a surprisingly decent performance. He proves that if he gets the right script, he will be funny on the silver screen, not just on "Saturday Night Live". If you liked "Austin Powers" and "Shaft", then this is definitely a must-see for you. Since basically, the movie is a combination of those two flicks. "Undercover Brother" is a hilarious movie with a decent script, clever one-liners, wacky performances and characters, and all in all, a really funky movie! I'd say this brother is... "solid".
