This film is one of the greatest, yet unnoticed films in cinema history. I still know people who have never heard of it. It is a very sad, yet very proud part of african-american history during the civil war, that not too many people have heard of, but should. When I was in High School, I fought to have this film viewed in my american history class, simply to show people kind of how it was to see america during the civil war through a different set of eyes. As you can see, this film touched me deeply, and was one of the few films to make me truly proud of my heritage. If you haven't seen it, watch it. RATING 10/10
