THE MOST OVERRATED MOVIE EVER WITH TITANIC!!! That's what I thought after seeing THE MATRIX. I mean, I didn't get the luck to see it in the theaters, and I heard everybody talk about it like it was some kind of miracle-movie. I waited impatiently for weeks to rent it in video. I watched it.
And I was disappointed. I mean, of course, it's a very good movie. But all the hype around it wasn't deserved at all. It has great special effects, nice fights, good directing, a great comic-book style script, and a lot of style. But that was basically it for me. The acting is ok -- Keanu and Lawrence Fishburne are just ok, but I was impressed with Carrie-Ann Moss and Hugo Weaving, and that's all. The dialogue was well written and had a few good one-liners. That's what the whole movie is, actually: sci-fi popcorn entertainment. No masterpiece, nothing like an historical movie. Just kick-ass action and a terrific sci-fi script... But yeah, I enjoyed it a lot anyway! 8/10 |
