While they are there in the woods they come across a man whose skin looks all infected and to protect themselves from him they light him on fire. Soon they start to realize they he was carrying a flesh eating virus and soon the friends start to get it and nobody knows how to handle it and they lock up the ones who do have it so the ones who don't will be protected. This soon changes how they act with each other and how they are going to handle the situation of the others and themselves. Cabin Fever, originally played at The Toronto International Film Festival, in September of 2002. It ended up being the highest selling movie at the festival that year and all of the nine studios engaged in a bidding war to see who would get the film. The winner was Lions Gate Films, and it is the most money the studio ever spent acquiring a film. Winner of The Best Make Up Award at The Catalonian International Film Festival. Cabin Fever, has good direction from director and writer Eli Roth, an entertaining screenplay, good original music, good cinematography, good production design and good make up design. Cabin Fever, could either be a hit or miss with horror film fans. Some horror fans will not like it because of obvious similarities to other horror films and they will find it does not have much of a plot. I enjoyed the film myself even though you could tell where the film borrowed from other horror films but other than a scene near the end I will not criticise it for that because most of the horror films out lately have been borrowing stuff from other horror films. The film's script may not be extremely intelligent but it is very fun and entertaining, the film has some good cinematic imagery, there is some good humour in the film and is basically a pointless, gory and fun horror film that I enjoyed and horror film fans who can forgive the weak plot or borrowing from other movies might like it as well. |
