One of my all time favorite movies! I loved EVERY minute of it! Not a bad or weak scene in the entire thing. The cast is flawless. This is my favorite Michael Douglas role and that is saying something because Douglas has had SO many memorable roles in his long and fruitful career. FUCK Spider-Man! This is Tobey Maguire's best performance and his best movie! When I think of Tobey Maguire, I don't think Peter Parker. I think James Leer. What a great performance he gives here. Robert Downey Jr. steals EVERY scene he's in. He's simply wonderful. Frances McDormand is unforgettable. 2000 was an amazing year for her. She starred in my #1 movie of 2000 (which was Almost Famous) AND my #2 movie of that year, which was this movie. Katie Holmes and Rip Torn round out the amazing, first-rate cast. So many memorable moments in the movie that it's hard to choose a favorite. When Maguire shoots the dog, that's definitely a highlight of the movie. Although the movie is never really laugh out loud funny, the movie is full of moments that will make chuckle and/or smile, consistantly throughout the entire film. Robert Downey Jr. has many great lines. The chemistry between the cast especially between Douglas/Maguire/Downey is priceless. And the movie just ends on a pitch-perfect note. Honestly, I love this movie so much and have such fondness that I can't think of a single bad thing about it. It's just about perfect. Not too many movies I can say that about. And when the movie was over, I had a HUGE smile on my face. This is the kind of movie I want to see over and over again and I'll never get tired of watching. A note perfect comedy that I will forever treasure. 10/10
