| If people don't mind paying even more taxes , than we can have a uni health care system . How does 9 dollars a gallon for gasoline sound , or a 17 - 18 percent sales tax , or 9 dollars a gallon for heating oil . If people are okay with that , then go ahead and implement a " free " health care system for all , because it has to be paid for in some way or another , that free moniker is misleading . Also , do you really want the government dictating what doctors you can see . I know in England a primary care physician is assigned to each individual , you don't have a choice in the matter . Then that physician will refer you to specialists if needed , you also don't have a choice in that matter either . In essence , their is even less choice with regards to uni care . If people don't mind any of the above , then there should be no problem , i just don't think people realize it's not the panacea it seems to be . I agree , the healthcare system is out of control , but fed control of it may not be the answer . If it does come to fruition , watch how much worse it gets , and the thing i don't like about it , is the much higher taxes , and the choices that are taken away from you . If you choose to have your own private care / insurance , doesn't matter , you still have to pay into a system that you don't use , that's unfair , much like people that own property who don't have kids who use the public schools , but still have to pay school tax . These celebrities who back Obama have all these tax shelters and investments to protect their assets , so higher taxes won't affect them as much , but it will kill the middle class , so what do they care , again there is no such thing as free health care , it has to be paid for in some way or another , so get ready for sticker shock when or if it's implemented . They can sing all they want about the " greatness " of candidate A or candidate B , but they are totally clueless as to what really ails the " common " man , and it isn't just health care . Lower taxes , take the burden off of people , and you'll do something for healthcare right there , people woudn't be as stressed out . |
