In this political climate those traits don't seem to matter anymore , it's the promise of a better tomorrow , the fantasy that positive thinking will " change " the fortunes of the downtrodden and put upon citizens . The only difference a new president will make is to the people they owe when they get in office , Obama will be doling out favors to his buddies much like Hinton and Mcain would if they became president . Obama is a pollyannic neophyte . A master manipulator of emotions , a slick motivational speaker that you see on tv late at nite . He's selling fantasy , and it's working , because people have a hard time dealing with reality . I don't see him doing a quarter of the things he's promising , and he knows that he won't be able to deliver either , but he also knows those promises can lead to the white house . I don't think Hinton or Mcain are much better , both of them , along with Obama would expand the fed government , because that's their solution to everything , increase the government's authority over the populace and raise taxes . What i find funny is how Obama sees the rich as detrimental and should be taxed more , but he is a beneficiary of somewhat " low " taxes , if he wants to pay more to save the world , let him do it , don't include me in that plan , but alas , we will all be part of it , whether we like it or not . We'll be forced to accept and pay into a uni health care plan , where is the choice in that , to me that's extortion sponsored by the government . That's only one of his bright ideas though , he also wants to raise the capital gains tax to 39 percent , in addition to the state tax you pay on same . Who will invest anymore if you know you'll only get 50 percent of it . This is the way i see it , these celebrities can " afford " to save the world , i can't , and i don't want too , so i want these pinhead politicians to stay out of my business as much as possible . Stop coming up with new schemes to fleece the public , make an effort to actually lower taxes , let us keep as much of our money as possible , and don't force us to partake in any of your social engineering projects . We don't need change , the foundation is already there for an effective democracy , we need to start following the principles of a free society with limited government intervention , not an expansion of their powers . Guess it's too late for that , no matter who becomes president now , out of the remaining candidates , it's going to get worse , only the delivery of the rhetoric will be different , but the spirit behind it will remain the same , socialism . LOL. Serious question: do you live in a house in the woods with a stockpile of guns and ammo and a copy of the Constitution in case "the feds" come a-knockin'? If you don't like the shameful, "socialist" idea of the members of a society (who reap all of its benefits daily) repaying back that very society they are a part of with some of their money in order to fund a variety of plans and social initiatives, then by all means stop using roads, move to Libertarian Fantasy Land and stop your nonsense. |
