Except Obama and Hillary are bringing in thousands of more voters than McCain is. For example, Obama and Hillary brought out over 344,000 voters compared to McCain and Romney's 128,000 total in the Connecticut caucases. Percentages aren't quite as accurate as the actual numbers. And boo on the socialist nonsense. I swear, this country, though I love it, has such a hard on for dog eat dog capitalism that it scares me. The fear of socialism is one of the reasons that we don't have amazing free health care--meanwhile the very not socialist Canada can have it. If you ask me, the White House needs a do gooder. Someone who'll look out for me and you (though I know you aren't in my country Briar ) and not the fucking Saudis or any other big business. Quote: McCain has something any other candidate lacks and that is experience on the political front. He was a senator right through the Reagan years, thats a big plus for a lot of reps. Whoop-dee-doo. That doesn't mean he's the right man for the job. Quote: Also, you're in Iraq. Bush fucked up and there's no pulling out right away. Have a candidate who'll pull out of Iraq just because its a popular thing to do might throw the entire middle east off kilter and you'd lose any pro-American sentiment by the people. The Middle East is already off kilter. There's going to be civil war there whether we are there or not. The pro-American sentiment is very much debatable (unless you're a Fox News fan). The Iraqi people don't want us there, and the Iraqi president has actually said that the Iraqi military can take care of itself...yet Bush's pride is keeping our troops there. It took years to pull out of Vietnam, and we accomplished nothing. This is merely history repeating itself. The United States needs to simply pull out, count its losses and let Iraq take care of itself. And yes, it would cost a lot of money. But, being the popular motion now, the president would have little to no trouble getting it approved, especially with a highly Democratic congress. |
