| The whole Batman "franchise reboot" annoyed me, but at least it had been almost ten years. Now they're not even trying. Hulk, The Punisher, and (possibly) Superman all getting revamped/recast after just one movie? How about: If at first you don't succeed, just stop. Go and do something else and quit beating a dead horse. My only real problem with Superman Returns was Kate Bosworth. Her version of Lois Lane was flat and boring compared to Margot Kidder's in the original. Now that was a character, and a perfect foil to Superman. There was just too much brooding going on in the new one. Yeah, it was bloated and the story a bit wonky, but it was pretty solid overall. |
