As a die hard Tolkien fan, I honestly detest Peter Jackson. Infact i really don't like the idea of the Hobbit being made into a film. Tolkien even said that he did not want any of his works to become films, and I respect that. IF we must ignore him on his wishes at least include everything that he designed. I understand that there is only so much you can do with a film, but leaving things out for me was, in the Lord of the Rings films, really burned. I don't want to see that happen to the Hobbit. Given it is shorter and somewhat simpler i really hope that it can turn out good, and complete.
