Akira is one weird, fucked up, bad ass movie. I'm no big fan of anime, but I've seen enough anime films and I haven't seen any that can rival this in terms of scope and violence. This movie is epic, weird, and bloody as shit. I'm not sure how a live-action American remake would work out. The plot's too complicated and weird, and the movie is just too damn bizarre and violent for American audiences. It'll be interesting to see how they're going to translate this scene into live action.
