The way I look at it is this: Che is a lot like a carnival mirror. How you see him depends on where you stand. Some, like you, don't think that much of him. Others, like me, are split on him: I despise his methods but I can't deny the fact that he is extremely fascinating and a cultural icon. To others, he is a hero, and they will gladly overlook any of his misdeeds by pointing to equally/more terrible people that were supported by the US (Pinochet, Somoza, Diaz, D'abuisson). |
