A lot of people think he's bland. I think he's very good usually. I really liked his performance in Resurrecting the Champ a lot. He was infact terrific in that. A certain style can be subjective too. Some people loved what Tony Scott did with Man on Fire. Although I liked the movie, I hated the style he brought to it. It was headache inducing. So sometimes acting and a director's style CAN be subjective.
