Still, ilovemovies point still stands in a way considering Drew Goddard wrote Cloverfield and he's still heavily involved in Lost (notably, he wrote my second favorite ep of S3, The Man from Tallahassee). I have decent hopes that this will be an entertaining film as Goddard has generally put out high quality work, doing some of the best eps of Buffy, Angel, Alias (well the best of the later seasons anyway) and Lost. I'm not really expecting much of a mystery or big storyline to this movie. All I'm expecting is to watch a monster stomp around NY for an hour and a half through the home video experience (and I personally LOVE the idea of doing a big destruction movie from the average person's point of view...it will just bring an exciting sense of perspective you don't get normally in these kinds of films...just the shots with the camera running down the streets of NY and looking up to see shit happening sold me) and have it be entertaining. If Goddard manages to write something that works on those levels and Reeves capitalizes on it, I'll be more than satisfied.
