Movie goers are tired of all the darkness and horror that happen on a daily basis in real life and they/we/I just want to go to the movies for ESCAPISM. ZODIAC is NOT escapism. I am glad theres people out there who want to laugh and just be overloaded with visual brain candy. I knew all along that Norbit, Wild Hogs and 300 was gonna outdo Zodiac. Not so much Ghost Rider...but Its got nothing to do with which film is telling a more sophisticated story and everything to do with ESCAPING the horrors of real life. All that being said, I enjoy horror flicks, but an over 2 hour movie that doesnt resolve anything and looks into how peoples psyches are ruined by the Zodiac case isnt gonna light up the B.O. and even though I am a fan of horror, on a certain level I am glad the other goofy, light hearted fares as well as 300 are doing better than Zodiac which I will rent but not sit thru at the theater.
