Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - 6/10 or ***/***** stars Much like the first two Harry Potter installments directed by Chris Columbus, David Yates' Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is a real chore to sit through at times and leaves the viewer waiting for something exciting to happen. What saves this fifth and latest installment from being the weakest film in the series is the following: (1) Imelda Staunton's first-rate performance as Dolores Umbridge, a loathsome teacher who makes Harry Potter's life a living hell. (2) The film's unrelentingly dark and serious atmosphere. (3) A wildly entertaining, eye-popping climax. After Alfonso Cuaron's terrific Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Mike Newell's solid Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is a flat-out disappointment. Hopefully, the second time will be the charm for Yates once he begins filming the sixth film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Strider
