Here is a link to the site of the 28th annual film festival (http://www.atlanticfilm.com/aff/), held in Halifax, Nova Scotia at two theatres. One a single auditorium art-house theatre called the Oxford Theatre. An absolutely gorgeous theatre with a balcony and all. The other theatre being an 8 auditorium theatre, all stadium seating, with the largest auditorium entitled "The Capitol" being the host to some of the bigger films. There will be 254 films playing over the course of the festival, including big name movies, documentaries, shorts, and independent films. Fernando Meirelles' new film Blindness will kick off the festival on Thursday, September 11th. In years past I have had scheduling problems and the film selection wasn't as good, but I am taking advantage this year to see as many films as I can possibly get to. I already have tickets to Zack and Miri Make a Porno, and will probably get tickets soon to Choke, Religulous, and Blindness. I know most of you fellow schmoes probably don't live anywhere near Halifax, but if you do let's discuss, and even if you don't maybe list the films you would see if you could come to the festival.
