For me, it's hard to rank Anderson's films, because as much as people say he keeps repeating himself, to me they all have very different strengths spread across similar scopes. They each appeal to me on different levels. I like how Rushmore and Aquatic are somewhat self-aware of being movies, while Bottle Rocket and Darjeeling have a lot of maniacal energy which is also injected into The Royal Tenenbaums with a dose of hedonism. |
