Yes you would need to be either A. a Kevin Smith Fan to call them the Jersey Saga or B. a movie geek to reference them as such. The majority of non geeks will either refer to them as those Kevin Smith movies for the somewhat geeky movie fans or to the complete non geeky person those Jay and Silent Bob movies. geeks can name directors most of the general public will just know them as Jay and Silent Bob movies but to actual know they are the Jersey Saga confirms you as a movie geek.
