Today, the Wall Street Journal has confirmed from Warner Bros. Pictures Group president Jeff Robinov that this is exactly the path they are taking, which could be in the vein of The Incredible Hulk that essentially ignored Ang Lee's 2003 film Hulk. Here's an excerpt from the article. Read more here: http://www.movieweb.com/news/71/30771.php Gee, I wonder if they'll have him come from Krypton this time? Or be rocketed to Earth by his parents Lara and Jor-El? Or be adopted by Ma and Pa Kent? Because, you know, I've never seen *that* before. They won't bother with the origin story, and if we want it, we can get it from the video store. The origin story only existed in "Returns" because by the time Bryan Singer came on for his "reboot", the impetus had moved entirely from "Try to suggest the tone of the comics, even if we can't do the Death/Rebirth story" to the earlier SuperV idea of "Avenge Richard Pryor and Golan-Globus!" So, the entire motivation had become to the movie back to Donner Formula, "as if III and IV never happened", unquote, which Singer, um......did, pretty much. :/ Warner being Warner, however, who never throws anything away, does this mean that an "action reboot" means they're now trying to find ways to script-doctor update "Last Son of Krypton"? (Oh, and did I mention, traumatized overreactions to JJ Abrams' LSoK was one of the *reasons* we GOT Singer's uber-faithful Donner-worship in the first place?...<shudder>) 0_0''' What, exactly, were these "traumatized overreactions," and what does 0_0''' mean?
