Not to mention TDK being dark and highly succesfull, and watchmen looking to do the same. This is one of the case's where the studio needs to drop their case and let the movie do what it should. Not for kids, bub. I don't know why the studio hired Gavin Hood in the first place if they were going for a light, family type movie. That's not exactly what he's known for making. Didn't they learn from the disappointing box office of FF2 that watering down a comic book to family levels isn't a good thing? X-Men already has a built in fanbase, they can make this thing as dark as a PG-13 rating will allow and it will still make over $150 million at the very least.
