I'm definitely one of the ones who won't bother to watch The Watchmen when it comes out. Saw the trailer and I didn't feel no excitement or anticipation for it. I won't knock Snyder for the pretty visuals and the frame by frame similiarities. It all boils down to the track record for Alan Moore's stories being any good on screen. And so far, I can't think of any. V For Vendetta I only enjoyed as a stand alone movie. As far as it being anything near the original source material, no. I stand by Moore's position in that his material is not translatable to the screen. Not everything can be 100% faithful. And sometimes something that is 100% faithful doesn't translate to 'great movie.' I hated 300. I thought it was really boring. It was just very stylish in terms of camera work. But, I want substance to go along with my camera work. If Snyder makes a 6 hour long director's cut of Watchmen on DVD, I still won't consider it anywhere near close to the source.
