What are your thoughts on ... If I was to list 5 movies that I associate with my childhood, Jumanji would definitely be one of them. I remember when I first saw Jumanji in theaters. At the time it contained some of the most mind-blowing effects I had ever seen, and the story flowed so well and was so much fun. It quickly became one of those movies I fell in love with. As a kid I owned the VHS, and I played that bad-boy constantly, and I now own the DVD; and while I don't watch the movie as regularly as I did when I was 12 or 13, I still feel like a kid whenever I pop it in. It's sad that flicks similar to Jumanji aren't made as often for kids nowadays. The only thing I can think of that remotely reminded me of Jumanji was the newest Journey to the Center of the Earth starring Brendan Fraser. I saw that this past weekend and it reminded me of the fantasy/adventure flicks, similar to Jumanji, that I saw as a kid. Regardless, it's a great movie and even though the effects are rather dated by todays standards, I'd still consider it timeless. My Rating - 9/10
