As for the narrative, if it sticks closely to the graphic novel, trust me, this will be a movie with a whole lot to say about human nature, about how humans react under chaotic conditions, about love overpowering any darkness in the world. It goes deep into how sometimes when you look at where humanity is going, you just wish we could erase everything and start from zero all over again. It goes into how pointless it all seems sometimes, the way society is built, and how in the midst of all that craziness, true love and human warmth and caring overshadows all that bullshit. It goes into crazier territory, specially with the Dr. Manhattan character. Its a very philosophical film Della, in spite of what the trailer might make you think. Alan Moore tends to go into philosophical territory, criticizing and commenting on humanity and how crazy and fucked up it all is. I think youll find the Comedian character very interesting as well. His a guy who doesnt take life to seriously, he is selfish, egotistical, a self satasfying prick, who is a hero, yet at the same time a villain. Come to think of it, all the heros in this movie are flawed. I dont think any of them are really pure in nature. Well, maybe the Night Owl. The rest are all pretty much fucked. Its a comic book movie yeah, but its twisted in nature. Its Alan Moore turning the superhero cliche upside down. I think you will find it refreshing, since its a really different take on the superhero genre. This man speaks true. |
