He's a great filmmaker and it shows with his intelligent decisions regarding these last two movies. Basing the whole thing around realism was as good of a decision as could be made about BATMAN. There's a reason his films are much better than Burton's, he dropped the stupid shit and added realism. Most people don't care how closely it resembles the comic book, they want a good movie - they couldn't be more right! Nolan falls into this camp knowing full well the characters work better in film his way and not the comic book way.
