Topic: Ah yes. The annual "Who cares about the Oscars" article. This time from CNN Forum: JoBlo

James Berardinelli is one of my favorite critics but he frequently bitches about the Academy Awards too. I'm so happy to be reading what everyone has been saying and completely agree. I've never missed the oscars since Braveheart won best picture. I love everything about it. I'm by no means a fashion guy, but when it comes to the oscars, I even enjoy that part. I love watching the red carpet arrivals. Back when I use to have cable, I would watch the E! channel all day long leading up to the show itself. And while the speeches can, admittedly, get kind of boring, I don't care. This is THEIR night and IMO they should have as much time as they want. ALL of them, not just the big stars. And I do get so sick of people who bitch about the oscars. And that includes Berardinelli. I try and ignore him when it comes to the oscars because his constant bitching is the one thing about him and his site I don't like. And someone mentioned they hate the montages, I couldn't disagree more. I LOOOVE the montages. Now if they wanted to get rid of some fat, they could get rid of some of those dancing numbers. They can get pretty boring. But other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. Love everything about the oscars and I look forward to them every year. Hope to win some myself in the (hopefully not too distant) future.
