The biggest intrigue to many hardened fans to the first two films wasn't the action, and like a wise man once said, "action should only complement the story, not the other way around"; T3 had action, exaggerated action that it didn't need. It had special effects for the sake of special effects. It had a story pieced together by hands that worked obviously quick. It didn't even care to shed a tear for the tone, intensity, or atmosphere of the first two films. I find the Matrix sequels to have the same faults-- they trade in the deeper, darker themes for advantages to show off what state-of-the-art computers can accomplish. BTW, I love great looking Backgrounds/sets. One of the great things about the first two Terminator movies is that you can re-watch them countless times and still admire shots the director filmed and set pieces that were set up. The lighting, specifically for the second film, also is something to appreciate. It has a cold, bleak feel to it and makes the intensity of the picture all the more effective. T3 is too "prettied" up; every set piece is carefully placed. It has no raw feeling or edge to its action. Im sure everyone loved the "acting" by Arnold, it wasnt the "Action" that made the movies. It was Arnold as a Terminator, thats why I liked it. T3 had more "Terminator" action than the first 2. They were Terminators in the first 2, but not much DAMAGE was done. In T2 he threw him through a glass window, in T3, they destroyed everything in there paths. I loved seeing Terminator on terminator action, like I said I DONT CARE ABOUT THE BACKGROUND OR LIGHTING!!!! Now dont get me wrong I know T3 was "bad" just not as bad as everyone seems to make it out to be. "He's a little busy running a state right now. He did play that character. The model 101 is an Arnold model, another model looks like Franco Columbu." But it was said ALL 101's look like Arnold, but Earlier models were 8 feet tall and easily recognizable, The one that attacked the base was NEITHER! |
