GRACE IS GONE reminds us that John Cusack can be quite a good actor. As a midwestern dad sheperding himself and his two young daughters (also excellent) through a stressful time, he alters his physical bearing to reflect a solidly ordinary man bracing himself, if possible, to endure. GRACE is well-made, genuine, and, depending on your tolerance for melancholy, easy to like. (Watch the end-credits for two unexpected big names.)
