I just found out that this movie opened today in New York and LA. I hope this isn't being dumped because it's a VERY good movie IMO and deserves to be seen. The performances from Guy Pearce, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Atonement's Saoirse Ronan and Timothy Spall are terrific. And the movie is compelling and haunting. One of the better movies of 2008 thus far. I really hope this isn't a case of the movie's studio fucking it over. That would be very sad and make me very angry. Here is the plot for the movie, taken from cominsoon.net: When famous escape artist Harry Houdini arrives in Edinburgh and offers a $10,000 reward to anyone who can contact his mother from beyond the grave, a beautiful but deceptive psychic and her young 'sidekick' daughter take the challenge. As Houdini spends time with this mysterious woman, he is beguiled by her charms, and what begins as a con evolves into a far more complicated and dangerous affair.
