It feels like a movie trying to feel authentic but is just an exaggerated shaky camera. If they guy has the gumption enough to keep filming terrifying stuff under pressure, can he not actually film things worth looking at instead of tank tires?
The total lack of explanation for this monster. Which normally wouldn't bother me if the movie didn't try to be "realistic" which it did.
The little spider spawn can be subdued with a hit from a fire extinguisher...but the big monster...nope, not even 20 hours of machine gun fire and missiles give it a scratch.
That 0 other people sought refuge in the subway system.
Dialogue like when the guy is frantically pushing all the elevator buttons and they don't work, and it's supposed to be intense, and then the one girl has an idea and shouts: "The stairs!" There were a few cool parts, but I'd probably go 3.5/10. Shacky camera, it wasnt that shacky IMHO, the part when they run the first time yes, where everything looked with a red tint (reminded me of 28 weeks later) the rest of the movie you can believe he is trying to document whats happening. Its true I would have put it off and wouldnt film a thing, but that character did. The explanation will come in the future. I think that for a short film this did what it had to. Do all other monsters in other movies gotten a truhtfull explanation? Missiles and guns. This is something that left me doubts. The main monster is HEAVILY ATTACKED, massive explotions, missiles , etc. Either the monster has really THICK SKIN or something is off. They were only in the subway for what 20 minutes maybe (you only saw a small part of a large subway system), and they did find many people on the military "base" those people could have been in the subway tunnels also. |
