The sci/fi fantasy films of the 7 Forum: JoBlo | | In connection with past threads of this kind, in which we recount all the sci-fi and fantasy films we can recall from a certain decade, here comes the one for the great 70s! A decade known for producing some of the finest movies ever. How did this decade fare in the science fiction fantasy realm? Well, you be the judge. Im going to start things off with these. Feel free to discuss the films that are mentioned and mention any little tidbit you might remember about a scene you loved or hated from these films. Please try posting the original posters if you can, make sure your pic shows up on the post. Thanks! Let the games begin! Heres a couple to get things started: I never did get much into these Planet of the Apes films, gotta do it someday. The Perenial Kubrick classic! Still stands up very well to this day. Excellent flick, a little on the graphic violent side, but a great message. Cant control you inner rage and violent urges? Someone will do it for you, and fuck you up in the process! So keep that violent side under control. Not my favorite of the "I am Legend" adaptations. Come to think of it non of the film versions are all that faithful to the book. This one is filled with zombies with white Afros. Saw THX-1138 for the first time a couple of months ago. Im convinced its George Lucas's best film ever. This one looks really interesting, anyone seen it? Soylent Green, damn good science fiction film. Though that poster is a huge spoiler! Westworld is really Jurassic Parks grand daddy. Just switch genetically engineered dinasours in an amusement park with cowboy cyborgs in an amusement park and you got yourself an idea of what this movie is like. Directed by Michael Crichton, the author of Jurassic Park. You can tell he had this "amusement park gone haywire" idea for the longest time. |
