Well I think you are in the minority with that opinion. Batman doesn't have powers of any kind and having it take place in the real world ala 2008 is in keeping with that. Why would you want a Batman movie where completely unrealistic things happen in a fantasy world. Doesn't the idea of a guy in a bat costume roaming the streets fighting crime in your city intrigue you despite the fact that you might think such a thing would be insane? I also think it depends on the kind of director that is doing the movie - if Tarantino picked up the franchise after Nolan, I don't think you would want Quentin to add more fantasy to Batman franchise. You defend Burton, because fantasy is his business. |
