1984- I just recently read the book this movie is based on and then I watched the film, and its a very faithful adaptation of the book. Hihgly recommend it! It put tears in my eyes. Its so sad that the world might turn up to be something like this...and already has in certain parts of the world. A must watch. Oppression, loss of privacy, hunger, poverty, and not a single original thought in mind. Sad world...hope we never end up like this. "Big Brother is Watching" The Quiet Earth - This film falls in the same category as films like Night of the Comet, only its not as cheesy as that one. It has no zombies or aliens, its just a very strange story in which a series of individuals suddenly wake up in a world without any humans around it. 28 Days Later did a major rip off of this movie with its first 20 minutes. You know those scenes in which Jim is going around the streets of London screaming "Helloooooooo!"? Those scenes were ripped off straight out of this movie! Its almost the exact same scenes, shot for shot. Never saw this one, anyone know anything about it? 2010 - An excellent sequel to Kubricks classic 2001. ON this one the crew has to go back and see if they can rescue the spaceship thats still floating in Jupiters orbit since the first film. They are going to try and go back and get the ship working again, which includes rebooting the HAL-9000 computer which turned against its crew members in the first film and killed a couple of them. Also, they will try and uncover the mystery behind the enigmatic monolith. Highly recommend this film! This movie isnt cheap or cheesy, this is some truly intelligent sci-fi!
