Forum: JoBlo | | Death Becomes Her did have a showcase of effects, but the story at its core is about people unwilling to accept their mortality. Its about that crisis people reach at a certain point in their lives when they realize they are no longer in their youth. ANd start scattering for ways to look younger. Its got a solid theme at its core, but I agree, the effects took center stage. They were ground breaking for their time thats for sure. I believe this one came out a little bit before even Jurassic Park did. So its one of those first few movies to use CGI in innovative ways. Right up there with T2 and Willow and The Abyss and all that. So its got its importantance in film history. I thought about doing one about the 70s, but a lot of people here are turned off by anything before the 80s. Fuck it, we should do one about science fiction before the 80s. And it shall include whatever the fuck anyone would want to put in there, thats before the 80s. Ill get to it! We'll do the one about the 2000, after that decades over, its still going strong! |
