That is why Sodas/ popcorn/ candy/ food/ is all expensive as shit, cuz that is the only place they make money. That is why movie theaters hold the performance of a film in their hands... if a movie is released and the theater manager puts that movie on their biggest screen, with the most seats, and that movie under-performs, then the next week that movie is in their smallest theater and the week after, generally it's gone. They need to put the biggest and best film in their theaters that house the most seats, because this way they can sell more tickets to that show and thus more people will purchase refreshments. This weekend.. i have a theater near me, Muvico... that is 24 screens, they have 6 huge screens... 5 of them i guarantee are Dark Knight and i am willing ot bet one of them is going to be Mama Mia... but if Mama Mia underperforms in ticket sales... come monday, Mama Mia will be in a small screen and Dark Knight will occupy all 6 of the huge screens! make sense? |
